Bathroom Break(s) is an expose of American Gen z nightlife culture following the Covid-19 pandemic. When businesses & universities started re-opening after the nationwide lockdown, A generation that had many coming of age moments stripped away from them, started to see the possibilities of social life re-emerging once again.

In 2022, I was enrolled in a topic course called Queer nightlife at VCU which focused on the rich history of the LGBTQ+ Nightlife scene. Within that course, we often met at local LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY bars & clubs to discuss the social scene following post-pandemic life as well as the obstacles many places had to go through to remain a safe space following a politically charged time.
